Alcohol-Free & Gluten-Free Beer in Tenerife South: What to Order
Coming to La Tejita, sitting down for a burger and ordering a beer doesn't have to mean the same thing every time. Sometimes you're driving. Sometimes you're coming straight from the beach and want something lighter. Sometimes you just don't feel like alcohol. Sometimes you need to avoid gluten. And still, you shouldn't have to end up with a boring drink while everyone else explores the menu.
At Rock N Hopz we love beer with flavor, but we also love that everyone can find something that fits their plan. That's why our menu has alcohol-free, 0.0, low-alcohol and gluten-free options, from easy lagers to IPAs, fruity sours and craft alternatives with plenty of personality.
Before you order, there's one important thing to know: alcohol-free and gluten-free are not the same thing.
First: 0.0, alcohol-free, low-alcohol and gluten-free don't mean the same thing
A 0.0 beer is made for people who want to avoid alcohol altogether. It's the clearest choice if you're driving or simply don't want to drink alcohol.
A beer at 0.4% or 0.5% falls into the alcohol-free or very-low-alcohol category, but it isn't exactly the same as a 0.0. For plenty of people it works perfectly as a light alternative; if you need strictly zero alcohol, check the label or ask us before ordering.
A gluten-free beer is a different story: it can have alcohol or not. The focus here is gluten, not strength. That's why a beer can be gluten-free and 5%, or 0.0 and gluten-free at the same time.
And if you have celiac disease, an allergy or a serious intolerance, the right move is to tell the team before ordering. The menu helps, but the label and how we handle it in the room are what really matter.
If you want a classic 0.0
For anyone after something straightforward, easy and refreshing, classic 0.0s still make a lot of sense. They're great with a meal without overthinking it, especially if you're driving or want to keep the day light.
In the online menu reviewed on June 10, 2026, you'll find options like Estrella Galicia 0.0 Rubia, Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada, Estrella Galicia 0.0 Negra, Estrella Damm Rubia 0.0, Estrella Damm Tostada 0.0 and Dorada Sin Limón.
The 0.0 rubia usually works well with classic burgers, fries, starters and beach-day food. The tostada brings a bit more malt and body. The negra can be a better fit if you want something with more depth, especially with smoky flavors or bold sauces.
If you want something alcohol-free, but with craft soul
This is where it gets fun. Because alcohol-free beer doesn't have to taste like a "backup option" anymore. In the last few years, IPAs, sours, dark ales and fruity versions with a lot more character have shown up.
If you're after an alcohol-free or low-alcohol IPA, look at options like La Quince Freepa!, Lervig No Worries, Mini Maxi IPA from Browar Pinta, Easy Peazy from Amundsen or Sin from Malpeis. These are built for anyone who wants hops, aroma and a proper craft profile, without going near a high-strength beer.
For something fruitier and more refreshing, Lervig's No Worries family comes in versions like Grapefruit, Pineapple, Mango and Mixed Berries. You'll also find options like Electric Mango Bubaloo from Amundsen, Raspberry Custard Berliner from Amundsen, Prenzlauer 0 from Põhjala or Margarita AF from Cloudwater.
That sour/fruity profile works really well when you want something fresh, with acidity and less heaviness. Perfect for a hot afternoon in Tenerife South, for after the beach, or alongside fruity flavors, sweet sauces, pickled onion or a bit of heat.
And if you're in the mood for something dark, there are alternatives too: Emerald from Collective Arts, a low-alcohol stout, or No Worries Driving for Christmas from Lervig, an alcohol-free dark ale. They're not your typical light option, but that's exactly the point: they prove "alcohol-free" doesn't mean "flavorless."
If you're after gluten-free beer
The gluten-free world has come a long way too. It's no longer just one lonely option to get you through: there are lagers, pilsners, pale ales and even IPAs that let you drink something with real flavor without straying from what you need.
Our online menu features references like Estrella Galicia Sin Gluten, Dorada Sin Gluten, La Sagra Sin Gluten and Estrella Damm Daura. They're a solid entry point if you want something more classic and easy to drink.
There are also craft options marked gluten-free, including several Dougall's references: 942, IPL, IPA 4, Raquera, Tres Mares, Beer Religion, Hopultura and Megaseth. If you want something more hoppy or with more character, this territory can be way more interesting than an industrial lager.
And here's a genuinely useful point: some options cross over into both worlds. Estrella Damm Rubia 0.0, Estrella Damm Tostada 0.0 and La Quince Freepa! are listed as alcohol-free and gluten-free in the online menu. That makes them great picks if you want to cover both bases at once.
What to order depending on your plan
If you're coming straight from the beach, you probably want something fresh, easy and with a bit of fizz. A 0.0 rubia, an alcohol-free radler or a low-alcohol sour/fruity beer can all work great.
If you're driving, keep it simple: go for a 0.0. Estrella Galicia 0.0, Estrella Damm 0.0 or Dorada Sin Limón are easy, no-fuss choices.
If you want a craft feel without alcohol, look toward IPAs and fruity beers: La Quince Freepa!, Lervig No Worries, Easy Peazy, Mini Maxi IPA or a sour like Prenzlauer 0 or Margarita AF.
If you need gluten-free, start with the options clearly marked gluten-free: Estrella Galicia Sin Gluten, Dorada Sin Gluten, La Sagra Sin Gluten, Daura or whichever Dougall's references we have available.
If you're pairing with a burger, think about the main flavor. For a classic burger, a clean 0.0 lager cuts through the grease nicely. For spice or a bold sauce, a low-alcohol IPA can lift the whole thing. For fruit, pineapple, mango or sweet sauces, a sour/fruity beer can fit really well. For smoky flavors, bacon or a strong cheese, a tostada, a dark 0.0 lager or an alcohol-free dark ale bring more body.
Looking after yourself doesn't mean drinking something boring
The point of a good menu isn't having lots of beers just for the sake of it. It's that you can come with friends, with family, while driving, straight from the beach, avoiding gluten or not in the mood for alcohol, and still find something you actually want.
At Rock N Hopz, in La Tejita, we like that idea: burgers, craft beer and options for different plans. Some references rotate and stock can change, so it's always best to ask the team what's available that day.
If you're around Tenerife South and looking for alcohol-free beer, gluten-free beer or craft beer with real options, stop by Rock N Hopz and ask about the current menu. We'll help you pick something that fits you, your burger and your plan.
